World Health Organization says alcohol bigger killer than AIDS
The World Health Organization has a new record out that decries the harm done by alcohol. The WHO is claiming that alcohol kills more people than AIDS or tuberculosis. Two million deaths per year across the world, or about four percent of all fatalities, are claimed to be indirectly or directly tied to alcohol, according to the WHO. Women’s risk not as high as men’s
When it comes to risk, there is a higher risk of men dying because of alcohol than women. Throughout the world, men binge drink more than women while, with a ration of four to one, men overindulge more than women. Binge drinking is considered a scourge in many countries and is defined by the Centers for Disease Control as consuming more than five drinks in an evening for men, and four drinks over a two hour period for women. Healthier when in moderation
