Americans are more educated about credit than they were before the recession; however, their knowledge about personal finance isn't resulting in better decisions about credit and lending. A survey will tell us that most Americans know the interest rates they are paying on their credit card and they know their credit rating. Even so, they carry high interest credit card debt and many don't know how to improve their credit scores.

Just days after a failed bombing try by Faisal Shahzad, a Times Square suspicious package scare caused the evacuation of Times Square by police. Traffic was rerouted and the bomb squad investigates. The package was found near the Marriott Marquis Hotel. It turned out to be an unattended bad, so don't get a personal loan to make a bomb shelter just yet.
